Yes, things get busy. There are obligations at every stage of your life. There will always be things that need to get done. But, the Lord is calling you to a higher standard and deeper walk. The things you used to do to get connected the last season aren't going to be enough. The praise you used to give him isn't going to be effective because you need to get deeper. The distractions in your environment need to be checked and put into their proper place. It's time to focus. Get centered on what you're called to do and focus your life around that goal. No more pursuing the shiny things that look good to the world but fall apart in the end. God wants all of you and needs you focusing on Him right now.
Everything that you do that get's between you and the purpose God has for your life is a distraction. Understand that the same thing that God wanted you to do before can become a distraction the moment that God tells you to do something different. Taking care of family may have been your job the last season but that doesn't mean it will be your God-given responsibility in this one. Yes, if God did not give it to you, then it's not your job.
When God used Boaz to redeem Ruth, she stepped into a new position. She stepped into the authority granted to her by God. Taking care of Naomi was no longer her responsibility. Ruth was no longer doing the things she was doing before because she stepped into a new season. Some of us are making bank and maintaining relationships that are so far out of season that the good thing you were doing for the Kingdom becomes the distraction that is keeping you stuck on the outside of answered prayer.
By now, I would have given the word but God is calling for ME to do something different. No religious practices, traditional motions, and vain work will be allowed where you're going next. Stop doing the same things while on your knees praying change. It won't work. Woman of God, I need you to get the picture. IT WILL NOT WORK!
Rise up and shift. Your focus must be zeroed in on the work that God has for you to do NOW. The freshness in this season of your life is ripe for growth, justice, vindication, and victory. You're getting what you prayed for with the new opportunity but you're refusing to take hold because it's uncomfortable. It takes sacrifice. It requires you to think beyond your emotions and step out from amongst them. The Word demands in 2 Corinthians 6:17 to come from among them and present your life as a living sacrifice by seeking holiness.
Touching unclean things is the way of the world. You say that you trust God but you're working yourself into an early grave. You say you trust God but little Johnny still has a key to your home. You say you trust God but you can't seem to let go of your need to know whats going to happen before you move. That's not God. The lack of faith, the need for people to accept you, and the desire to be loved by people who have already proven that they don't love you is not what God has for you.
So... What should you be doing right now? Not what's easy, not what feels good, not what LOOKS good - but what is it that God has already told you to do? Pick it up, put your hands on it, pour your heart into it, and get to work. This is your sign. Now focus.
